It estimated that hackers used Raccoon0365 phishing kits to steal approximately 5,000 credentials from users in 94 different countries since July 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft seized 338 of Raccoon0365\u2019s web domains after\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/noticeofpleadings.com\/RaccoonO365\/files\/Complaint%20and%20Summons\/02.%20Complaint.pdf\">obtaining permission<\/a>\u00a0from a federal judge in the Southern District of New York.<\/p>\n<p>Raccoon0365 sold its phishing kits on a Telegram channel through subscriptions ranging from 30 to 90 days,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudflare.com\/threat-intelligence\/research\/report\/cloudflare-participates-in-global-operation-to-disrupt-raccoono365\/\">according to Cloudflare<\/a>, which worked with Microsoft on the operation to disrupt the service.\u00a0Cyber criminals used the kits to target more than 2,300 organizations in the U.S. in a wide variety of industries. Many attacks sought to steal credentials and deploy malware\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/security\/blog\/2025\/04\/03\/threat-actors-leverage-tax-season-to-deploy-tax-themed-phishing-campaigns\/?msockid=37888e43a48564e620fd987aa5a865eb\">during tax filing season<\/a>, Microsoft said.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft told the court that it had conducted four separate \u201ctest buys\u201d in which employees purchased phishing kits from Raccoon0365 and learned key details about how the operation worked.<\/p>\n<p>The phishing operation has at least 850 members on its Telegram channel and has received more than $100,000 in cryptocurrency payments, Microsoft said.
