RecordTS - Architectural Overview

Overview

RecordTS is a remote desktop session recording tool useful for recording everything users and administrators are doing when remotely connected to a Terminal Server or any Windows server or workstation using Microsoft Remote Desktop Client. RecordTS will record RDP and ICA traffic along with VNC. RecordTS installs as a Windows service on the Terminal Server, Windows server or workstation and records all user activity when users are connected to the computer remotely. Additional components can be added to help manage the recording files and provide search and reporting.

The Basic Layout

The basic component of RecordTS is the Recorder. Its function is to intercept and record remote connections (user sessions) to the computer or server it is installed on.

Larger Installations

The Enterprise Manager offers automated management and storage of the recording files. Also, advanced search and reporting features are included as well as a web console to manage the Recorders and view recordings remotely.
